Rice Krispie Ganache Bars


These rice krispie treats with dark chocolate ganache are nothing but delicious and so good! I mean who doesn't love a crunchy yet chocolaty treat... They are sweet, salty and crunchy, the addition of pistachio and hazelnuts adds an amazing crunch and nuttiness to these treats, let's not forget the velvety smooth dark chocolate ganache that will melt in your mouth with every bite you take.


It is perfect when cut into bite size pieces and served for summer dinner parties or even lunch parties. Both adults and kids will love it!

Rice Krispie treats

Prep time: 10 minutes

Rest time: 30 minutes

Total time: 40 minutes

Servings: 8


Ingredients:

11/2 cup rice krispie cereal

1/4 cup pistachios

1/2 cup melted dark chocolate (I've used Lindt 70% dark chocolate)

1/2 tsp salt flakes

Ganache

Serving

Slivered pistachios

Hazelnuts


Instructions:

1. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper

2. In a large bowl add the rice krispie, pistachio kernels, dark chocolate and salt flakes. Mix until it is all combined. Transfer to the pan and press the mixture into the pan smoothing the top gently. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

3. In a bowl add the chopped dark chocolate and pour boiling heavy cream. Mix until smooth and it is all combined.

4. Pour the chocolate ganache over the set rice krispie mixture. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or ideally overnight to allow the ganache to set.

5. Before serving sprinkle salt flakes, hazelnuts and pistachios on top. Cut into bars and serve.
